FREE ONLINE-WORKSHOP / April 29, 2021: Multifunctionality can be generated via the targeted assembly of individual particles into complex structural units. Due to the new arrangement of the basic building blocks, these so-called supraparticles have the potential for new and extended functionalities/properties. In this workshop, the scientific and technological aspects of the synthesis, upscaling and application of these supraparticles will be discussed.

In cooperation with the Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier invites to the digital »Woche der Umwelt«. From June 10-11 2021, the Fraunhofer ISC will participate as an exhibitor in the digital event. We will present biodegradable functional materials for environmentally friendly packaging solutions (bioORMOCER®) developed at the ISC. We are looking forward to meeting you at our booth.

Innovation never stands still: For the first time, the ECS conference will be held in a digital format, bringing together international coating experts on a virtual platform. In his presentation "Benchmarking antisoiling coatings for solar applications under real conditions in Saudi Arabia" on September 14 at 9:30 a.m., Mark Mirza from Fraunhofer ISC will inform you about antisoiling coatings with an antireflection effect and how they can contribute to cost reductions in the operation of solar power plants in arid regions.

FACHPACK is one of the most important European trade shows for packaging, technology and processes. This year, Dr. Victor Trapp (Sales and Marketing), Dr. Ferdinand Somorowsky (Chemical Coating Technology/bioORMOCER®) and Prof. Dr. Karl Mandel (Particle Technology), among others, will be on site as trade visitors and will be available for discussions. They have numerous innovations from the fields of packaging and logistics in their luggage.

The Green Batteries Conference 2021 is dedicated to providing a look at the entire battery value chain, from raw materials to current and future cell and system technologies, operation and maintenance, end-of-life, reuse, recycling - reprocessing of battery components, functional materials, and the political and regulatory framework. International experts from upstream and downstream the value chain meet virtually to discuss the latest developments.

Dr. Holger Böse from the Center Smart Materials and Adaptive Systems CeSMA at Fraunhofer ISC has been invited as keynote speaker at the 1st International Conference on Advanced Smart Materials and Structures (ASMaS-2021). He will present on "Soft and Stretchable Sensor Technology Based on Electroactive Polymers".

The course offering "Tissue Engineering - Essentials of 3D Tissue Engineering" provides a comprehensive overview of the biological and material science fundamentals of tissue engineering in two half-course days and provides insights into practical applications, from personalized test systems to the development and approval of cell-based therapies.

At ARABLAB 2021, Fraunhofer ISC will present technologies from the Center of Device Development CeDeD and the Translational Center for Regenerative Therapies TLC-RT in Hall 4, Booth 510: AQUAJUST® CAM for the adjustment of laboratory glasses and an INCUBATOR system for tissue engineering.
