FIP-FPM@KU: Your Partner for Cutting-Edge Technologies in Display, Semiconductor, Telecommunication, and Energy Technologies!

FIP-FPM@KU develops solutions for advanced display technologies, semiconductor, telecommunication and energy devices by a co-development of materials and processes highly adapted to the specific challenges for next-generation components.

Materials and processes are validated on process lines similar to those which are used in industry. So, FIP-FPM@KU does not demonstrate proprietary solutions but offers also a validation service to external material suppliers abroad as a showroom for Korean customers.

Main competence of the FIP-FPM@KU is the combination of novel (hybrid) polymer materials with materials processed by advanced vacuum techniques and the usage of the co-optimized material developments to new device and production concepts.

Fraunhofer Innovation Platform FIP

A Fraunhofer Innovation Platform (FIP) is a temporary Fraunhofer-like research unit hosted and operated by a university or a non-commercial research organization abroad, in close collaboration with one or more Fraunhofer Institutes in Germany.

The FIP collaboration scheme offers direct benefits to the partner organization, Fraunhofer, and FIP clients, and aims at generating a positive economic and social impact.

The FIP program fosters a collaborative approach to valorize, transfer and commercialize scientific research output. To this end, the Fraunhofer Institute and its international partner organization develop a joint strategy as well as a unique business proposition by synergistically combining their complementary competencies.
